My teammate, Will, drew this. He's mailing it to his supporters instead of doing presentations. Just kidding.

T Minus 19 Days
Updates: I depart for training in 19 days, and only by the Lord's sovereignty, I am around 83% funded!
As overwhelming as it is to think of leaving all my friends and family stateside, I am so excited to get to Bahrain! I still have a lot of preparations to make: subleasing my apartment, opening a new international bank account, packing, moving, and getting the rest of my funding!
Two huge answers to prayer recently: I sold my car! I really do miss her, even though she was just a car, I hated to see her go! Also, this past weekend, a few wonderful friends of mine put on a fund raising dinner for me and we raised $700+ (there's still a bit coming in from it). The dinner not only provided me with some financial means, but it was a tremendous encouragement to have my friends come out and show their love and support for me.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- that my roommate and I can find someone to move in to our apartment by November 13
- that I will be spiritually prepared to head to training in 3 weeks
Also, I am embarrassed about the extreme number of exclamation points I used in this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but I'm just that excited.

Middle America
I enjoy visiting Oklahoma (it's usually for a wedding), and have a few days left of this extended stay.
I've already spoken at one church and four small groups, with one church presentation remaining. Although I do get nervous before each talk, they are truly a blessing. Sharing with other believers what the Lord is doing to expand His kingdom is a great honor and I love doing it. Fund raising is itself a ministry; I get to come see people I haven't seen in months or years and share with them what the Lord is doing in my life, as well as what He's doing to expand His kingdom. People are so encouraging and they often pray for me and my team when I'm done speaking.
The presentation I did to the church I grew up in was especially wonderful. I haven't actively attended there for 9 years, but it was really good to share with them and thank them specifically for the spiritual foundation they provided me during my first years as a believer.
Thinking of fund raising as a ministry really makes it joyful. It is such an honor to be able to share with people the Lord's heart for spreading His name throughout the earth.
I head back to the West Coast Monday morning and then it's just 30 DAYS UNTIL TRAINING STARTS!

Presentations
This week I'm speaking at two small groups, one I used to be in and one I'm in now, as well as preparing to go to Oklahoma next week to visit churches. In each of these presentations I'll be speaking about what I'm doing with the intent to garner support.
As I was telling a small group leader recently, I am simply honored to share about this work of the Lord whether or not financial support comes from it. I've learned to just take joy in telling other believers about what God's doing to spread His name throughout the world, in hopes that they will grow more aware of the importance of worldwide evangelism. If they don't support me, maybe somewhere down the line they'll support someone else or even do this themselves. The Lord moves in hearts how He chooses, and sometimes people surprise us (both by giving and withholding).
With that said, however, I am purposeful in my fund raising efforts and the Lord has been faithful. I am currently 61% funded!
**Last week I had to make some security changes to the blog, so my picture is no longer on here, neither is the name of the organization with which I'm going.
